Rapidly prototype and design pressure vessels with common components such as shells, heads, nozzles, and flanges. DesignCalcs supports pipe and plate product forms as well as "off the shelf" and custom flanges.

Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

Create fixed tube, floating tube, or U-tube tubesheets in accordance with Part UHX. Tube-to-tubesheet joints can be evaluated three ways: as welded, expanded only, or a hybrid  per part UW-20 and Appendix A. DesignCalcs supports both thick- and thin-walled expansion joints. Thick-walled expansion joints are designed in accordance with Appendix 5 and common industry practice. Appendix 26 guides the evaluation of thin-walled expansion joints.

Data Library

DesignCalcs includes scores of industry data from a wide variety of trusted resources, such as codes, standards, and manufacturer catalogs. This supporting data will eliminate the need for cross referencing and speed up design time while ensuring accuracy and safety in your vessel designs. The DesignCalcs data library puts thousands of materials, structural shapes, pipes, flanges, and more at your fingertips.

Additional Calculations and Options

In addition to the vessel and component types listed above, DesignCalcs includes multiple calculations and options. Utilize WRC-107 to check local stress from nozzle loads or structural attachments. Determine MAWP for the vessel and itemize it for each component. Calculate the allowable MDMT values for the components and the vessel. Specify whether your vessel will use the 3.5:1 or the 4:1 design factor. These are just a few of the ways that DesignCalcs supports smart vessel design.

Top Quality Reports

Powerful reporting capabilities present your data in an organized and succinct manner. With multiple options for customization and a variety of available output formats, the reports can be adjusted for any situation. All calculations are presented in their intended algebraic format, so the data is easy to read and understand.
